September 26-28 Rockford, IL Annual great public event and displays at the Rockford Midway Village Museum. Over 700 reenactors participated last year with thousands of spectators. Sponsored by 2.Panzer HRS. See the event website for more details.
October 3-5 Columbus, IN Victory Days at the Columbus Airport. Allied and Axis encampments, battle and medical demostrations, with large armored equipment, homefront displays, military and civillian fashion show, 1940s music/movies, flee market and vendors, and a USO style hanger dance to close with. October 25 Yorkville, IL This just in, a new site has been turned into a tactical. "Into the Reich 1944" will be at the Lyon's Farm after the successful public display recently. 21st Panzer (HRS) is hosting this WWII tactical battle and participants are encouraged to arrive Friday, as the battle starts very early Saturday. The scenario is Western Germany, fall 1944. The Anglo-American forces are crossing into the German frontier and the German High Command has issued orders to halt them and drive them back with everything they have. The property we will be using is expansive and very interesting. The Allies will be advancing with the goal of taking the village. Before they get there, they need to fight through various farm buildings, cross 2 bridges, two heavily wooded areas with a deep ravine / creek running through it, and THEN fight up to the railway depot. Wheeled vehicles and light artillery/anti-tank cannons are greatly encouraged. This will be a PRE-REGISTRATION event with $5 fee (refs, vehicles or cannons get in free). For those not familiar with the location there is quite a bit of land including a large creek, two bridges, thick forest, open land, and a couple of roads. October 10-12 Campt Atterbury, IN PRE-REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY! The date is tentative until conformation from the military is received. This will be a major tactical battle with lots of armour for both allied and axis. Contact Mike Lipe at (309) 762-0212 for more details.
October 10-12 Westpoint, KY Annual October Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot. A huge event for shooters - you can shoot almost anything. For more information, see their website.
October 4-5 Columbus, IN Victory Days is a full immersion three day event that will relive every aspect of World War II; military, medical, homefront, music, aircraft, cars, tractors, and military vehicles. Activities include battle, medical and aircraft demonstrations, re-enactor mess hall, MP patrols, Saturday USO style hangar show and dance, Sunday awards ceremony and the Friday “school day” program that incorporates state educational standards with interactive learning. The Columbus Municipal Airport, originally named Atterbury Army Air Field, is an original WWII airbase. The base trained the CG-4A glider pilots and the first B-25 and B-26 Medium Bombardment Group manned by black pilots. Enjoy the Saturday night dance in a real WWII hangar. Registration ends September 12th, but to guarantee your unit name gets listed in the Victory Days program, you must register before July 1st. For more information, see their website.October ??
