July 23-25 St. Clair Shores, MI 3rd Annual WWII and Veterans Weekend at theVeterans Memorial Park in St. Clair Shores. Features a huge military vehicle rally, educational WWII weapons demonstrations (allied and axis), over 50 vendors with military collectibles for sale, live beach battle reenactments, current military vehicles, US military displays, live entertainment TBA, helicopter rides (additional fee), food/beverages and much more! Onsite camping for reenactors and vehicle owners in this very large lakefront park. This event will have heavy media coverage. Sponsored by the St. Clair Shores Parks and Recreation, Detroit Arsenal of Democracy Museum and Motor Pool. July 23-25 New Lenox, IL Proud American Days with WWII public displays, encampment and reenactment. This event will be held at Haines Wayside Park, located just North of US Rt. 30 and West of Cedar Rd. The park is 10-15 acres with about 2-3 acres of heavy, cleared-ground woods. Perfect for setting up out of the sun and the park is exclusively ours for the entire weekend. This is an ETO event sponsored by the WWII HRS, (US) 9th Infantry and (German) 353.Infanteriedivision. WWII vehicles (Jeeps, Motorcycles, VWs and Lightweight Trucks) are allowed, weather permitting. No tracked vehicles are permitted, however. See their website for more details.

July 31 Dekalb, IL "Vet Fest 2010 Picnic" at the Dekalb Municipal Airport from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and sponsored by the Dekalb VFW and American Legion. Lunch will be provided. Contact George Reinke for more information.
August 6-8 Danville, IL Kennekuk World War II Remembrance Days with a tactical and public battle and living history displays. Founded in 1974, Kennekuk County Park is 3000 acres in size and is located five miles west of Danville. It is bordered on the west by the Middle Fork National Scenic River and the Middle Fork State Wildlife Area (3000 acres). Kickapoo State Park (3000 acres) is three miles to the south. There will be a WWII encampment area with a designated fire pit, port-a-johns, and water for those who want to bring their tents and stay overnight in the park. Tracked vehicles under 15 tons are allowed in the park. Other WWII vehicles (jeeps, motorcycles, trucks) are permitted but have to stay on the paved roads. Pre-registration ends July 30 and there are no vendor fees. See their pre-registration website and event site for more details.
August 6-8 Tidioute, PA Hosted by the 99th Infantry Division, 393rd Regiment, Easy Company 'Battlebabies.' This year marks the 65th Anniversary of the 'Bridge at Remagen' battle that helped shorten the Second World War. An invite-only event actually uses a period WWII bridge as the object of the public battle. There will be a private tactical in the morning of the event and a public battle in the afternoon. August 12-15 Sycamore, IL Annual Sycamore Steam Show with as many as 10,000 people in attendance this event in the past. The WWII display area is well shaded for your viewing comfort. Contact George Reinke for more information.
August 13-15 Essex, Ontario This public two-day event will showcase the tools that past and current generations have used to protect our freedom. Although this focus is on WW2 and later, there will no doubt be reinactors from 1812 and WW1 as well. By the way the professional Pyrotechincs company that is doing the battle display is champing at the bit to throw some dirt around! August 14-15 Iola, WI Annual Iola Vintage Military Vehicle and Gun Show. This event is located about 35 minutes east of Stevens Point. See their website for more details.
August 20-21 Conneaut, OH D-Day event. If you pre-register, their is no fee! Otherwise, their is a $10 registration fee the day of the event. Some of the 9th SS from PA will be in attendance as well. August 27-29 Dixon, IL Located at Elks Farm which is just to the north of Dixon and just north of Lowell Park. Saturday evening features a dinner
(steak/hambergers) at cost at the VFW. There will be music and dancing for those inclined to try out their Willie and Joe impersonation. The main event will be Saturday. September 10-12 Scottdale, PA Operation Market-Garden reenactment hosted by SS-Pz.Abt.102, Aufklärungszug and 101st Airborne Division PIR 501. On the 66th Anniversary of the Allied drops, West Overton Museums presents the Operation Market-Garden reenactment and memorial weekend. Come join us to experience this daring operation first-hand. Step through a time-portal as West Overton will be transformed into a Dutch Farm, circa 1944. Watch as the Allied Forces try to capture the Homestead and surrounding barns from German control. Walk around the static displays of weapons, vehicles, and equipment used during WWII. Enjoy food and drink from vendors that will be near Uncle Martin’s Company Store. September 18-19 Yorkville, IL Invasion Poland - 1939. German forces are gathered on the Polish border, coiled like a giant serpent waiting to strike. If you enjoy the site and smell of burning buildings, heavy Artillery and charging calvary, this will be the place to be! 3 public battles: 2 on Saturday and one on Sunday with provided food, water, ice and fire wood. This Pre-Registration event will be held at the PNA camp in Yorkville. Only proper 1939 Polish and German impressions will be allowed to participate in the battles. October 8-10 LaSalle County, Il A two-day WWII vehicle convoy held in LaSalle County, Illinois, beginning in Sheridan, Il (just south of the Earlville Stonehouse Park site). This event is in its 3rd or 4th year and has been held to a small group of vehicle owners in the past. This year they are opening the event up and want to bring in many more vehicles and make it a much larger convoy event. Daily routes are in the planning stages. Routes will return to single staging area nightly for period camping on private property. Convoy will be run in full uniform and gear. Contact Michael Beth for more details.
